Dear Alegrians,

We hope you are all safe and well.

Despite the challenges and difficulties we have faced in TERM 3, everything has gone exceptionally well with the zoom and filmed classes and all students have made impressive progress.

The RAD exam session at the end of November/beginning of December is definitely going ahead, as are the Spanish exams and hopefully, a concert or performance of some sort, provided we can get into the theatre which we have already booked.

We have finally been given the go ahead to recommence face to face classes next week as long as we follow the advice and regulations given by NSW Government.

NB This essentially means that only students who come from households where all adults and siblings over 16 have been vaccinated, are permitted to enter the studios. (This may change but for the meantime, we have to follow the advice). We, therefore, ask you all please to send through a photo or documentation of your vaccination certificates. All teachers will also comply with the vaccination requirement. This is a tedious exercise, but we have to do it to keep everyone safe. For those who cannot come in just yet, we will continue Zooming those classes as well.

In Woolloomooloo, where we are the sole users of the space, we will commence classes next week on Monday 11 October.

All classes will run at the usual times.

All vocational students will need to wear masks as will the teachers.

Teachers must check in with the QR code, but students do not need to as all teachers take the roll for every class. We can then monitor who is in the studio at all times.

The venue managers of our other branches in Bondi Junction and Artarmon will let us know by early next week when they intend opening to hirers, so we have decided that for next week – Monday 11 th – Saturday 16 th October we will Zoom all classes for the week.

The managers are confident that they will be opening very shortly and once again, we will have to adhere strictly to all regulations. We, therefore, would appreciate it if all parents from the Artarmon and Bondi Junction schools also please send us their vaccination certificates so that the transition back to the studios is smooth and safe for everyone.

We feel this will be a good way to ease everyone back without overcrowding our space and also ensuring that we can enforce the social distancing at the same time.

We want to thank you for your loyalty, support and co-operation in these challenging times.

Keep safe and well.

All best wishes,

Hilary and Archie
